Recur ("we", "us") is a spaced-repetition practice tool for coding interviews, available at recur.coach. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what happens to it. We tried to keep it readable.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we receive your email address and username from our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Practice data. The problems you practice, your written explanations, the code you submit, your Big-O answers, your conversations with the coach, session grades, and your review schedule. This is the core of the product, so it is stored for as long as you have an account.
- Technical basics. Standard logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) and your timezone, which we use to schedule reviews correctly.
How we use it
- To run the product: building your queue, scheduling reviews, tracking progress.
- To grade your sessions and power the coach (see the AI section below).
- To fix bugs and improve the product.
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
AI processing
The coach is powered by third-party AI providers. When you practice, the content of your session (your explanation, code, and messages) is sent to those providers to generate coaching responses and grades. We send only what is needed for the session, not your account details.
Services we rely on
- Clerk handles sign-in and account management.
- Render hosts the application and database.
- AI providers process session content, as described above.
- A payment processor will handle billing when paid plans launch. We never see or store your card details.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, export it, or delete your account and everything in it. Email us and we will handle it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note it here with a new date above.
